Greek Golden Visa program

The Greek government launched the Golden Visa program in 2013 to attract foreign investments and stimulate the real estate market. Between January and June 2020, authorities issued more than 22,500 residence permits to investors and their families from outside the European Union and the European Economic Area who invested in properties valued at no less than €250,000.

This program allows investors to reside in Greece and travel freely within the Schengen Area for five years, with the possibility of renewal as long as the investor retains the property. The program does not require applicants to physically reside in Greece, and the renewal process can be done online easily.

The application process requires only one visit to Greece to sign an official power of attorney, after which all procedures can be managed remotely. Those wishing to obtain Greek citizenship and a passport must reside in the country for at least seven years.

The Greek Golden Visa program is one of the most flexible and competitive in Europe, combining ease of procedures, a low minimum investment threshold, and freedom of movement within the European Union.

Family Members Eligible to Be Included in the Same Greece Residence Application

  • Spouse.
  • Children up to the age of 21 for both spouses.
  • Dependent parents from both sides (i.e., the main applicant’s parents and the spouse’s parents).
